Mrs. Racine is a New 5th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Racine at work in her classroom.
There are several new teacher here at Vergennes Union Elementary School this year. Mrs. Racine is one of our new instructors.  She was nice enough to answer some of our questions.

What is your position at VUES?
I teach 5th grade math and science.

Where did you grow up?
Malone, NY

What do you like about your job?
I love working with kids. It is so great to see them learning new things. I not only teach the kids but they teach me too.

Where is your classroom in the school?
I am in Mrs. Conway’s Room, B4.

What was your favorite subject in high school?
I really enjoyed my computer classes and social studies when I was in high school.

Why did you decide to be a teacher?
I have always wanted to be a teacher, for as long as I can remember.  When I was younger I played school with my sister, of course I was the teacher. I think at first I  wanted to be a teacher because I liked correcting things and writing in workbooks.

What is your favorite animal?
I love dogs! We have a black lab named Buddy.

Please tell us a little more about yourself.
Let’s see, I have a daughter named Jordan who goes to VUHS, she is in 11th grade. I live in Ferrisburgh. I like to: make crafts,  go 4-wheeling, my spyder, read, hike. I grew up in Malone, NY. I lived there until I moved to Vermont.

We are happy to welcome Mrs. Racine into our learning community!
