VSO Visit

Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO)
Percussion Trio Visited VUES!

We had an assembly with three members from the VSO.  They showed us different kinds of percussion instruments.   You hit or strike, scrape, or shake percussion instruments.  They performed folk songs from all around the world.   We heard music from China, Ghana in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

The "DrumShtick Trio" talked about about percussion instruments.

Students listened to information about the snare drum.

"Bob was super funny!" - Calder R.

"I liked when they played musical messages to each other.  It was funny when they did the joke." - Iain O.

Multicultural May Speakers

On Monday, VUES had some visitors for Multicultural May.  Three students from Middlebury College volunteered their time to speak about different countries.   Jeff talked about Hong Kong.  We learned many facts including Hong Kong has more than 7 million people!  Maria talked about Australia.  Australia has many interesting animals and customs.  Sophia talked about Spain.  We learned about the different food that people enjoy in Spain.  At the end of the visit,  we sang songs and ate Australian cookies.
