Fun Run

VUES FUN RUN

We all had a great time on Thursday October 25th.  All classes (Kindergarten through 6th grade) ran about a mile.  We ran through the outdoor classroom, to the high school and back again.   This year the money raised will be used to improve the trails in the outdoor classroom.

Mrs. Cormier

Welcome Mrs. Cormier!

We interviewed Mrs.Cormier, the new guidance counselor.
She was born on April 15, 1981, and she grew up in New Britain,CT. Her childhood was very positive and fun.  Before she came to VUES, she was a K-8 guidance counselor at Barstow near Rutland, VT.  Her hobbies are yoga and running.

She came here on March 2012 after they found out that Mrs.Williams was retiring. Mrs. Cormier heard lots of goods things about the school, and it was close to where she lived. Once she saw Vergennes she wanted to be here. Her last school is different because at her last school she taught K-8.  Now at this school, she teaches K-6 and this school is larger than the last school. The interesting things she has planned for us are: ring toss, smartboard videos for the little kids, and team games. She likes this school because she thinks everyone is very friendly and positive and very welcoming.

Treasure Island

Pirates Invade VUES!

The VUES Community Group was kind enough to give the whole school tickets to go to Treasure Island at the Vergennes Opera House on Friday, October fifth. The show was full of adventure and fun for all ages. In the play, Jim Hawkins goes on an adventure to Treasure Island to find a buried treasure. The mean pirates try to steal the map and the buried treasure!

Here's a link to a VUES pirate photo that was in the Addison Independent!

Mr. Brindisi

Mr.Brindisi is the new science teacher at V.U.E.S.  Before he came to V.U.E.S., he was a third grade teacher in Peru, New York. He now teaches 5th and 6th grade kids.
Mr.Brindisi likes how friendly and involved the kids and teachers are at V.U.E.S.

When Mr.brindisi was growing up he was very active and played lots of sports such as baseball.  He was born and grew up in Saranac Lake, New York.  He was born December 17th, 1985 (He is 26 years old).  He loves astronomy and reading. He also loves to play with his dog, Rudy.  Some of the fun and cool things he will be doing in science are:  visiting the outdoor classroom, having students help suggest topics for fun things to do as a class,  working on astronomy with the 6th grade, and doing some enjoyable experiments. Last spring, after he left his interview in Vergennes, he knew this was the place he wanted to be!  Mr.Brindisi decided to come to VUES because Vergennes is a nice community, and there is a lot to do here in Vergennes.  Mr.Brindisi tells us that VUES is different from his last school because in his last school the students never switched classes and they stayed in one class for every subject.
